Our escape room games take place in fully immersive, themed environments. They’re adventures designed to test your teamwork, observation skills and cleverness. You and your team must explore each room inside the games, solve mysteries and puzzles, and ultimately try to win the game within 60 minutes.
All the games at RED VEIN Escape are established within the same world, creating a fully immersive environment. The building that you enter is the oldest building in downtown Ashland, and our 60 minute games take place at the Rabbit’s Paw Inn, which was founded in 1870. The games also connect to the world within RED VEIN Haunt, our seasonal haunted attraction.

No. Since all of our games are private, one person does need to book for the entire group. If you need to add additional people after your initial booking, you can call to do so, or add them when you arrive.

YES! You may book games outside of business hours with at least 48 hours notice by calling us at 804-752-1081. Please leave a message if no one answers, or send us a DM on our social channels. We’ll do our best to respond as soon as possible.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled game time in order to complete our electronic waivers and pregame briefing. Briefing begins up to 10 minutes BEFORE your listed game time, and the game begins exactly on time. No refunds will be offered for late arrivals or no-shows.
Please leave all personal belongings in your vehicle and silence your cell phone. We’ll have coat hooks available for you to use near the games. Everything you need to solve the game will be provided for you.
Yes. Once you complete your reservation, you’ll receive a confirmation email from us and then a second email with our waiver. This waiver integrates with our booking site, so we’ll see it once it’s been completed.
No outside food is allowed, but resealable plastic bottles may be brought into the lobby. No food or drinks will be allowed inside the games. Parties and businesses who rent our event space may bring in catered food options.
No, but there are some great options around downtown Ashland within walking distance!
Not at all. You may leave at any point during our 60 minute games through marked emergency exits (which are usually the doors you entered the room in). Please be aware that your game time will never stop, even for a bathroom break.
Our escape games are certainly different experiences from our haunted attraction. It’s not designed for multiple startle scares, but we generally include one or two surprises or loud noises that may be considered scary to some. Yes! We run the Ashland Haunted History Tours, which are walking ghost tours through downtown Ashland. These seasonal tours run every Friday and Saturday night from May through December. Please go to hauntedashland.com to book a tour.
We try to strike a good balance so both beginners and experts can enjoy the games. As players have different problem solving skills, we find that difficulty is a variable. Especially since not every group is the same size nor at the same experience level. We’ll certainly give clues if you’re having trouble on a particular puzzle or two (or three) and we are certainly happy to be more involved in the game if your group prefers.
We have Game Managers for each game that will both set the story and can be your guide if you’re having trouble. There are cameras/microphones in very room of the games so that we may monitor your process and be there for you if you’re needing a hint.
Each 60 minute game costs $28-$30 per person depending on the day of the week, with a minimum of 3 people or $90 per game. Booking minimums are waived on Wednesday and Thursday, and before 2pm on Saturday. All games are private, meaning you won’t have strangers joining your experience. Our 10 minute mini-games are $10 per person.

Yes, but RED VEIN Escape is not recommended for children under 8 years old, and some games are not recommended for children under 13. Please check the game description before booking. If any child is 10 years or younger, a parent or guardian must accompany them in the game.
The price is the same for everyone.
There has to be at least 2 people in every game, but we highly recommend at least 4 people.
We’ll allow up to 8 people in our 60 minute games and 2 people for Phobia, our 10 minute game.

If you can’t make your scheduled booking, please notify us at 804-752-1081 within 24 hours prior to the booking, and we’ll be happy to reschedule your game. If you’re a no show, unfortunately there are no refunds or reschedules.
We recommend comfortable, closed-toe shoes and non-restrictive clothing.
Yes, all games are accessible and we have an ADA-compliant bathroom.
Please, no alcohol on the premises. Also keep in mind that anyone who comes in under the influence of alcohol or drugs might not be allowed to participate. Puzzles are a bit more difficult under the influence, so earn your celebratory drink after you win!
Regardless of the outcome of your game, your Game Manager will debrief your group and invite you back into the lobby for a group photo. Please feel free to share your post-game group photo with friends and family on your social media channels!
